singin' a song

long after my nephew had been put to bed last night, he was still making noise. he was really fighting against going to sleep. over tired and recovering from illness, he wanted to stay up just a bit longer. from all the way downstairs, we could hear him singing a song. we muted the tv to hear my 2yo nephew singing "M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A..." he was in fact singing the UofM rouser. yes, this smarty-pants 2yo knows the rouser. for you non-Minnesotan's the rouser is the U of MN's fight song, at the end of which you spell Minnesota, then say "Minnesota, Minnesota, YAAAAAAAY Gophers! Rah."
he knows the song, particularly the spelling of MN. My sister, brother-in-law and I just sat there giggling. Of all the songs he could be singing, he picked the rouser. now that's a true Gopher fan!
